GRIEF SUPPORT CERTIFICATION ONLINE TRAINING

Do you want to learn to help grievers heal their deepest pain?

Dr. Jane Simington PhD

Hello, I am Dr. Jane Simington, PhD. I am a grief and trauma therapist, author and educator. I have a professional background in both nursing and psychology. I developed the Accredited Grief Support Certification Training Course, which has now been delivered for more than a decade. As a result of this course, I have certified hundreds of men and women, both in Canada and internationally.

I am also the mother of a son who died tragically when he was 13 years of age. While I knew that many who attempted to help me were caring people, I also knew that they did not know how to offer effective help. Most did not have the knowledge of intense grief, nor the skills to help me move through it, and to heal those responses.

Do you question your ability to be truly helpful to grieving friends, colleagues, family members or clients; and feel excited about the possibility of gaining the knowledge and skills needed to be therapeutically effective in each of these situations? If so, the Accredited Grief Support Certification online training course I am offering through Taking Flight International Corporation is for you!

Course Outline

Become a Certified Grief Support Counselor

The desire for certification in grief support, counseling and education has risen sharply with the present threat of COVID-19; for as you are aware, this threat has impacted the lives and livelihoods of all of us and we are all struggling with both immediate and impending losses. These changes to our financial and social structures have already created many losses and we fear that there are more to come.
While we most often associate loss and the accompanying grief with death, ponder also the losses experienced by people who have already lost their jobs, as well as by those who are now required to work from their homes. Along with the financial losses, come also losses of social and peer support and a sense of immediate security, and the impending dread of how this situation will unfold in the future months. Along with the many losses associated with employment losses, comes also the grief resulting from the loss of identity. We often describe ourselves in terms of what we do. When we are disconnected from our employment, we can struggle in terms of our sense of self in relation to how we now identify our self -- both to our own self and to others.
Major losses now being experienced by many are the losses to their normal routines, their loss of freedoms and the control over their own lives and decision making processes.
These losses are now being experienced not only by those who are no longer employed in their usual ways; but are being experienced by our children who are out of their routines at school, and at their sporting events. Their parents must also deal with their own grief as well as to be able to help each of their children cope with the grief they too are experiencing by their separation from routines and friends.
For some too, the impact of this social and financial change is being piled upon other unhealed losses which leaves the person experiencing the impact of multiple losses.
Some too are already grieving the death of someone who succumbed to COVID-19 or are anticipating the grief that accompanies the diagnosis and its possibilities.
If you have ever had the desire to be of service in the helping field and have considered the possibility of gaining the knowledge of how to better support and offer counseling, I encourage you to take advantage of this online offer to become a certified grief support counselor.
