Trauma Informed Helping Presentation  

 Trauma survivors may continue to have surges of Adrenalin causing them to remain alert to any new threat. During this Power Point and video presentation you will receive an overview of how the brain and nervous systems respond during trauma, and why the Adrenalin continues to flood the brain and organs long after the trauma is past. This causes the person to be easily triggered back to the traumatic event, and if the trigger is severe, the person may separate themselves from the emotional charge by splitting with reality. You will gain skills to recognize when a person is triggered and learn to communicate in ways to decrease the possibilities of causing further harm to those who are traumatized.
